QUALITY ASSURANCE ACCREDITATION
STUDY PROGRAMME ACCREDITATION
Study programme accreditation shifts the focus away from “input” evaluation to evaluation of quality outcomes, namely “output”. and, in particular, to achieving objectives and learning outcomes. Accreditation is a pre-defined, reliable and useful process, which should be implemented in accordance with the relevant regulations and, subsequently, made public. It involves:
- study programme accreditation proposal submitted according to the specific university quality and internal evaluation standards
- external study programme evaluation carried out by a committee of independent experts, which usually includes an in situ visit to the university
- accreditation report submitted to HAHE
- HAHE’s accreditation decision
- consistent follow-up of the accredited study programme by IQAS (QAU) and report two years after accreditation
