QUALITY ASSURANCE MANUAL

The University of Western Macedonia is responsible for ensuring and continuously enhancing the quality of its educational and research work, as well as for the effective function and performance of its services, in accordance with international practices, particularly those of the European Higher Education Area and the principles and directions of HAHE.

The competent body for the administration and management of UoWM internal quality assurance system is the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU). QAU is responsible for the organisation, function and continuous enhancement of IQAS, the implementation and coordination of internal evaluation procedures of academic and service units, as well as the support of external evaluation and accreditation procedures, within the principles, guidelines and instructions of HAHE.

To achieve all the above, the University of Western Macedonia has developed and implements and continuously enhances an Internal Quality Assurance System, complying with the requirements of HAHE and also with international practices, especially those of the European Higher Education Area (article 14, 1 L.4009 / 2011).

For the assurance and continuous enhancement of the quality of the educational and research work, as well as for the efficient function and performance of its services, UoWM also complies with the criteria defined in article 72.2, Law 4009/2011.

For the quality management of its service functions (administrative, technical, financial) the University applies and complies with the requirements of the International Standard ISO 9001: 2015.

To achieve accountability and to fight against bribery, UoWM adopts and applies, inter alia, the principles of ISO 37001: 2017.

For the protection of personal data, UoWM applies the provisions of the General Regulation of Data Protection (EU 679/16) as incorporated in Greek legislation with consistent effect.

UoWM environmental management is ensured by the application of the provisions of the International Standard ISO 14001: 2017.

The social responsibility of the University is ensured via the requirements of the International Standard ISO 26001: 2010.

All the above form a solid and resilient framework of support, control and administration of the Internal Quality Assurance System.
